AI-assisted culling

Deliver from the keepers, not the whole card.

Every upload is analysed for sharpness, motion blur, noise and near-duplicate bursts, and ranked. You see the strongest frame of each burst first and the soft ones flagged — culling a wedding becomes a review, not a slog.

AI culling — PixaConnect

What it flags

Technical culling, done on upload

PixaConnect scores each photo as it arrives: Laplacian and Tenengrad sharpness, a primary-subject sharpness score, motion-blur likelihood, noise and grain. Soft, shaken and noisy frames are flagged before anyone scrolls past them.

  • Sharpness scored on the primary subject, not the whole frame
  • Motion blur and noise flagged per photo
  • EXIF (camera, lens, ISO, shutter) captured for filtering

Near-duplicates

Bursts collapse to the best frame

Perceptual hashing groups the 14 frames of the varmala toss into one burst and surfaces the sharpest. You deliver one great frame instead of fourteen nearly identical ones — and the client is not asked to choose between them.

  • Perceptual, difference and colour hashes for near-duplicate detection
  • Best-of-burst chosen by sharpness
  • Flagged frames stay in your project — nothing is deleted

Quality-first galleries

The gallery opens on the strongest photos

Quality ranking flows straight into delivery: galleries can sort by quality, highlights are picked from the top of the ranking, and the face-search results a guest sees are the sharpest photos of them first.

  • Quality-sorted galleries and highlight strips
  • Face-search results ordered by photo quality
  • Nothing is deleted — flagged photos stay in your project

How it works

How AI culling works

  1. 01Upload

Every photo is analysed on arrival — sharpness, blur, noise, duplicates, EXIF.

  2. 02Review the flags

Soft frames and bursts are marked; the best of each burst is surfaced.

  3. 03Deliver the keepers

Publish quality-ranked galleries and highlights from the top of the set.

FAQ

Questions photographers ask

What does PixaConnect AI culling actually detect?

Sharpness (including subject-level sharpness), motion blur, noise and grain, and near-duplicate bursts via perceptual hashing. It ranks photos by quality and surfaces the best frame of each burst.

Does culling delete my photos?

No. Flagged and duplicate photos are marked so you can exclude them from delivery; nothing is deleted automatically.

Does PixaConnect edit or colour-grade my photos?

No. PixaConnect focuses on culling, delivery and galleries; your editing stays in your own tools and style.
